Interview with Marion Boyce

April 27, 2020

It was a dream come true to finally get to meet Marion Boyce, costume designer for Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries. Her fabulous pieces on the show add depth to the characters and visual harmony to the sets, making us feel like we were having our cake and eating it too.

In February 2020, Mary got to sit down with Marion in her fabulous Melbourne studio and learn what it was like working on MFMM. As we suspected, no detail went unexamined in creating costumes for the show!

Here are some shots from her studio:

Below is the coat we discuss that was made from Marion’s vintage Chanel fabric and seen in Dead Air:

  1. If you watch Miss Fisher s Murder Mysteries for the costumes, the period details and the interplay between the characters, this is the podcast for you. The hosts know a lot about the clothes (and have great taste) and a great affinity for the actors, and delve into the historical details. Smart and sassy, just like Phryne!
