2.6 — Marked for Murder

April 21, 2017

Ahhh, the Sports Ball episode. Don’t worry—we talk very, very little about Sports Ball. Instead, we talk tons of menswear and art and design. We also learn about Chandler’s secret collection and the TV shows MFMM has ruined for Mary.

Other stuff that comes up:

  1. You two never fail to entertain me, from the deliciously snarky comments about aspects of the show to the perspicacious tangents that provide such wonderfully informative tidbits on all sorts of topics. And I especially liked the observation of small details likely missed by anyone only watching an episode a “mere four or five” times (har!!). One thing I completely missed, which was pointed out to me later by a friend, you might find amusing to mention for your final 3.8 podcast when pondering small details. When Phryne is initially settling into the cockpit of the plane, one gets a small glimpse of the infamous blue swallow brooch anchoring her mile-long scarf. I never noticed that, and I’d seen that episode at least 3 times! Thought that was sweet.

    • Hi Lynn! Thanks so much for getting in touch and letting us know you like our podcast. Those small details are what really make us love and appreciate the show. Every time we rewatch we catch something new. The swallow pin in 3.8 is a perfect example. You may not see it the first time (or 3!) but it subtly continues the story arc and leaves us with some hope that these two beautiful fools will eventually get together! 🙂 xoxo, Mary and Chandler

On the double wind screen of Sidney’s car. Those are the wind screens for good weather, there’s a single big windscreen that’s flipped down in the episode. During bad weather or strong wind the single big windscreen is flipped up for more protection.
